Visions of Urban Landscape and Self Exile. My ongoing Urbanismo series explores the dual perspectives and spatial melancholia that define exile. It fundamentally alters how a person perceives an urban landscape. In his essays, Edward Said notes that an exile lives in a state of "simultaneous awareness," viewing the current city through the ghost-imprint of the home they left behind.
